Let’s Talk Hurricanes- {charleston dog walking and pet sitting}

Hello Charleston!

Well, it’s August and that means it’s time to post about hurricanes. I don’t even want to mention that word, but we’re getting into the active part of the season and I thought I would post some reminders.

 Plain and simple….Prepare yourself!  Don’t wait until there’s something brewing in the atlantic to get your hurricane kit ready. Pick up a couple extra jugs of water, trailmix, granola, crackers, batteries, etc. at the grocery store next time you’re there and put them in a bin for safe keeping.

For your pets, buy an extra bag of their dog food/treats, medication, etc. to last in case you can’t get out and about. Also buy a box of puppy pads in case your furry pal can’t go outside…or won’t! Have their crate handy and store all of these things in there for safe keeping. It’s also a good idea to know where their rabies tags are in case you need to evacuate and show these whereever you stay.

The good thing about hurricanes is that we know they are coming in advance and we CAN prepare. You can never be too careful so just be smart, plan ahead and don’t ever think it can’t happen where you live!

Enjoy the rest of summer…fall will be here before we know it!
